Deborah J. Barnes (and her twin brother Daniel) was born in Rochester, New York on November 2, 1961 to Alberta (Houchins) and Zebedee Barnes Sr. She was one of eight children. She attended grammar school in Rochester at School #16. She graduated from Madison High School in 1979. She also attended Bryant and Stratton College, and pursued her interest in secretarial work.
Debbie was a dedicated employee of JP Morgan Chase for many years until her health began to decline. She served her company well.
In 1983, Debbie received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at Christ Tabernacle Church. She was a faithful member and enjoyed spending time with the saints. She lived a holy life. She had a special love for the older members of the church. She was always helping others. Whatever she could find to do, she did even when she did not feel well. Her friendship knew no boundaries and her generosity was just as great. One of her favorite sayings was “All shall be well, all is well”. Debbie held to her faith until the end.
Debbie had a bright and welcoming smile. She had such a sweet disposition. She was very humble and had a gentle strength about her. Without raising her voice you knew when Debbie meant business. She had a certain look that she would give you. She had such poise and grace. Debbie loved her family with all of her heart. She was a dedicated daughter, sister and aunt. She was truly instrumental in all of her loved ones lives. She had a special love for her nieces and nephews. Many times they would spend their weekends with her because they wanted to. She immediately stepped in to raise Brianna and Anthony when their mother Marcia passed away suddenly. She truly had a mother’s love and raised them as her own.
Debbie Barnes transitioned from this earthly life Monday, October 5th. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Zebedee and Alberta Barnes; and her sister, Marcia Barnes-Evans. She leaves to cherish her memories, her brothers: Zebedee Barnes Jr., Daniel (Toni) Barnes, Jerome Barnes and Anthony (Tonya) Barnes; two sisters: Joyce (Horace) Little and Cynthia Barnes-Adell; special niece and nephew: Brianna and Anthony Evans; nephews: James, Kevin and Paul Adell Jr.; nieces: Danielle and Brittney; great nieces: Kayleigh and Alexis Barnes; great nephew, Emiliano Little; special friends: Carolyn Christian and Ella Yelder; and an abundance of other family and friends.
